I borrow another chair and small table from in my bedroom. When I have someone over for dinner, I improvise. Graining's book does a great job of illustrating the architectural challeges of working with small spaces. Instead of recounting minute details of Einstein's childhood and daily life, it focuses on the well-documented thought processes that produced Einstein's major discoveries (e.g., the General Theory of Relativity (G=T)); and on what was happening in Einstein's life at those times.The book has the clearest step-by-step layman's explanations of Einstein's theories that I've ever come across. A. For example, there is an illustrated discussion of how two speed skaters on parallel paths will inevitably collide at the North Pole because of the Earth's curvature. There is a lot of physics throughout the book, perhaps too much for some readers, although there are no equations and no special scientific or mathematical background is required (Sometimes Bodanis carries this a bit too far, such as when he explains what a lightyear is.).
