Eventually, they realized they had at least as much in common with their neighbors as they did with Megalos, and declared independence, winning it in a decades-long war. It has an excellent index and each chapter has extensive references. Also, there are some excellent ideas for the bathroom that would be especially helpful if you've just begun space planning or picking out fixtures for a remodel or new construction. While definately Native American feeling, the book makes it pretty clear that they are not connected to any one culture (in fact at one point they mention how sandpainting is something of the Navajo, not of theirs) yet at the same time open to all manner of indigenous peoples throughout the world.
