I have only two complaints, which aren't making me give this book less than a 5:1. Grammy used to read me this book every visit. It lacks the rigorous mathematical development of Klir's texts, and the broader contextual overview (with math) of Kosko's texts but after reading it the student can begin doing some fuzzy logic work. For me, they tend to capture the attention of my daughter who has been reading, or having us read these short worded books. Those looking for titillation should probably look elsewhere. In researching hikes before the trip, I found it annoying that the distance from Asheville to each hike is not given. Your guests will surely flip through it and want to get a copy of your own. Welding two sections together took about 8 hours, and in order to ensure a continuous weld, the workers could not stop even for bad weather or air raids.Part 2 continues with descriptions of the torpedoes (some of which were programmed to follow patterns, while others used acoustic homing devices), mines, guns, and even rockets which the U-boats carried. Always remember, that a great rate on the wrong mortgage strategy can be a $200,000 mistake! I especially recommend this book if you are a loan officer/mortgage banker who currently does not take your prospective clients through the mortgage planning process. I saw this book as a useful reference in an e

SMSC "synergizes" or "puts together" lesson sequences using the best practices of science instruction: inquiry-based learning, literacy integration (nonfiction reading and writing, using science notebooks, science mathematics connections) and embedded assessments (effective design, real world applications). SMSC students are active participants in the learning process. Students read, write, calculate, and communicate in the context of science. Lessons are engaging, hands-on, and relevant. To help save time and money, SMSC investigations use safe and economical supplies found in supermarkets and discount stores. Post-assessments are provided for each lesson set.    The three, sequential lesson sets in SMSC Volume 1 focus on the concepts associated with understanding the phases of matter, kinetic molecular theo

They have both presented at numerous conferences on topics related to standards-based science, assessment, the science and literacy connection, and calculator-based labs. Currently both Sharon and Jo work as consultants to school districts and other science-related organizations. Sharon has both a BS and MS in the teaching of science as well as a Ph.D. The book is now two books! And, instead of a set of great science lessons, the two books now form a great chemistry curriculum for middle schoolers. And, both love to travel. Jo has a BS in Botany from Colorado State University and an MA in Gifted and Talented Education from the University of Northern Colorado.
