I realize that it was a long time ago and there are many other Fil-Ams to recognize and honor, but I believe that this first large wave of immigrants to the U.S. Part I provides a general overview of beliefs and rituals that were part of social life during the period. I am very tech challenged but I believe even I could sit down with that book in hand and easily work my way through opening the box to all the photos, videos, texting, emailing , apps and whatever interested me. I was expecting a new story, and so I swallowed the pre-publication order hype. To some degree, she is probably you, too. The scheme works beautifully and Freddy finds himself the property of a little girl named Sophie (a child he repeatedly states is, "A GIRL IN A MILLION!"). Once she puts that into perspective, things become more clear. . Still, worth a read, but don't pay too much for this book.. Sometimes I feel guilty for not starting at the beginning of a book like this and reading right through. I've had to search and bookmark.
