(I don't particularly like Christmas themes and, although it was crucial to the introduction of Scrooge, apparently neither did Bark according to the notes at the end of one of the books). For one thing, the summer of 1967 is completely absent from the book! The chronology jumps from spring to fall and ignores the summer altogether.
